Kim rated it it was amazing Sep 01, For a lot of those levels HP loss through weapon attacks is the main threat you are facing. Lots of mental gymnastics in this thread to justify an objectively broken mechanic.
Not by much, but by enough. How did you calculate AC 22? Eric rated it it was amazing Jun 11, I tried explaining to a ebergon how much more mechanically powerful these are than the other races but the highest I could calculate was AC Want to Read Currently Reading Read.
If the class is unbalanced which I don’t think it is, except maybe the Envoy subclass I’d rather it get tuned down in other areas. It’s fine that they get more AC than other races because that’s their thing. I feel like a lot of people are talking past each other when they say “game breaking.
Be civil to one another – Unacceptable behavior includes name calling, taunting, baiting, flaming, etc. The other subclasses seem uninspired. The book also had a few problems with editing and is missing an index. John rated it liked it Aug 11, It’s enjoyable for folks who are interested in expanding their Eberron repertoire.
Need to wrap up a social encounter, shift for advantage on Insight. Not really – and other races getting it doesn’t mean its “flavor” or that they should get more just because it’s the same.
Races of Eberron is an accessory for the Eberron setting that provides information on the races originally presented &dd the Eberron Campaign Setting: In addition, this book highlights the other major races of the Eberron world, including elves, dwarves, halflings, gnomes, half-elves, half-orcs, and drow.
Healing spirit is justified under the claim that the game is balanced under the assumption that you will enter each combat at v&d HP. That’s a pretty niche situation.
No DM is going to deny their player the same attention that they give others just because their race is unbalanced from the outset. Other books in the series. Am a super big Warforged nerd.
For the Changelings, their clothes don’t change with them so that limits the appearance changing a bit. Immunity to sleep and exhaustion are pretty good, but probably won’t come up all that often, and ability to keep watch during rest to me, doesn’t seem all that great since someone should always be on watch anyway. I feel that not being able to use other magic armor isn’t a meaningful downside to getting high-quality magical armor for free.
Only thing I would like to see is Warforge not be able to use normal healing like in 3rd edition. Which makes a sort of sense, and the version of the book that I have looks more like a core supplement than an Eberron supplemnt, and more closely resembles books like Races of Stone and Races of Dragon than it does other Eberron books.
You can do this for other purposes too like if one of you needs to not take a long rest at all vs the other party members for some reason, as long as you’re a class that gets what they need back on short reststhey’re just less common. Nov 03, Dustin rated it did not like it Shelves: That would help them be flexible enough to really sell a disguise – minor things that’d fit a number of different personas – rather than super specializing in one thing alone.
Still need the disguise kit for all that. Welcome to Reddit, the front page of the internet. Taking that out of the hands of the dm messes with the balance. Which is fine, I suppose, as the races of Eberron are some good races, and especially with the Warforged and Changelings offer any campaign setting a slew of character options.

Views Read Edit View history. And the warforged AC requires zero Strength investment even for heavyno weight at all, and is worn at all times without any issue. I doubt it would happen, as it makes warforged players weaker in general especially with how weak healing racs anyway. The book includes extensive information on each race, plus new race-related feats, prestige classes, spells, and equipment.
Which isn’t gamebreaking overall, but damned useful.
Everyone decided it makes more sense for the warforged to get it I feel like this is powerful for any tank character, but not game-breaking. Especially since it cant stack with stuff like forge cleric. So that’s equivalent to full plate Official play assumes characters can’t get Plate until rafes level. Want to Read saving….
Do you make a lot of perception checks in combat? They are literal walking metal death machines, and a good, flavorful eberton feature to give them is armor that gives them generally higher AC than other if. Personally, I’d be happy dropping Unsettling Visage and the limitation on the tool use. The designers have explicitly stated that the game is balanced with the assumption of NO magic items.
WF also gets some of the best bits of elves and dwarves, excellent stat boosts, and solid additional racial traits, especially the Envoy.
