It perfectly incorporates each personality of each of the virtual members As a huge Gorillaz head, I loved this book, but couldn’t recommend it in the least to someone who isn’t into them or even to someone who is looking to get into them. This book is fantastic if you are a fan of the Gorillaz or visual novels in general. So while I don’t normally read autobiographies, I did enjoy this book. Besides the artwork, the book includes the mostly-fiction-semi-nonfiction-pseudo-biography of the Gorillaz starting at the very beginning of the band’s coming together and going on to explain how the Gorillaz became “biggest virtual band in the world.

Which is why it was written by Cass Browne, an actual drummer for Gorillaz boo of the real musicians, that is. Goriloaz for telling us about the problem.

Reads like a huge interview and is full of masterful art pieces. Gorillaz have always been as much about the visuals as they are about the music, and the autobiography will be a feast for the eyes.

But the faux biographical nature of the book dictates the layout and organization of the art, which severely detracts from my ability to appreciate the visuals. It’s all in there. It brought a sense of reality boook the characters unprecedented to me.
